About MyFlo

What is MyFlo?

MyFlo is a period tracking app that also predicts future menstrual cycles.

We strongly believe that your personal health data is no one else’s business and that you should be in full control of your data. So, unlike other apps, MyFlo does not store your data on our databases or servers. MyFlo data does not sync any data to the cloud or to any other device. Your data is ONLY stored on your personal device. We do not share your data with anyone because we simply cannot access it.

While this is great for protecting your privacy there are some downsides:
  1. Data does not sync between devices;
  2. and If you do not save your data, it can be lost.
How do I use MyFlo?

Track your cycle by selecting one of four flows (spotting, light, moderate, and heavy) on the calendar. Cycle through the flow options by pressing on the date one to four times.

When you start tracking your cycle MyFlo will predict both the duration of this current cycle and future cycles. MyFlow starts off with a seven day cycle at 21 day intervals, but as you track your cycle MyFlow adjusts its predictions based on your actual data.

Why do I need to download my data?

Since the data is not saved anywhere else, it is important that you periodically download/backup your data so you can rebuild your data if you clear your browser cache or the data is somehow lost. We recommend downloading and backing up your data at least once a month.

If you lose your device, clear caches in your device's browser, or want to use the app on a different device, the only way to transfer the data is with a download file. MyFlow allows you to download data as a .CSV file that you can import back into the app.

We recommend that you store your most recent downloaded file somewhere safe (and on a separate device if necessary) and delete any old downloads.

How do I download and backup my data?

From the calendar page or the Data page select the Download button and MyFlo will generate a .CSV file and ask you to select a location for your download file.

You may want to further backup your data by saving the downloaded .CSV file to a secure location on another device, USB or thumb drive, or in a secure encrypted folder in the cloud.

Where is my data stored?

MyFlow only stores your data on your device. That is it. MyFlow does not store or sync your data with any other service, cloud or database. You will want to save your downloaded file(s) such that you can retrieve the data if your device data is somehow lost or deleted. You may want to backup your data in a location that is separate from your device in the event your device is lost or inoperable.

MyFlo does not have the ability to define a folder where your downloads are stored. When you select the Download button, your device will ask you to select a location for the file. By default, iPhones store downloaded files in the iCloud -> Downloads folder. Androids store in MyFiles or File Manager.

What is the List for?

If you want to see your data as a list (as opposed to in the calendar) there it is on the List page. Predictive information IS NOT included in the list view.

How does autodownload work?

MyFlow has an autodownload feature that automatically downloads your data monthly

MyFlow will only generate a new download if new data has been entered into the app data since the last download date.
